Karl and I are very excited and proud to announce we have another
Canine Good Citizen in the Mohr Bouvier Family. Blondes Have Mohr Fun aka Heffala passed her Canine Good Citizen test and now officially joins her brother Houdini as a CGC Bouvier with her
official certificate (PDF file).
For a Bouvier this test can be very challenging but Nancy worked very hard with Heffala and all the time and work paid off. We are all very proud of both Nancy and Heffala!!!
We look forward to adding some more members of our family to this list. If anyone has any questions about the CGC program AKC offers please feel free to contact us. It takes some work and time but the reward is well worth your effort. Again, CONGRATULATIONS HEFFALA AND NANCY!!!!
It is quite appropriate that
Heffala, (aka: Blondes Have Mohr Fun, Heffy and Little Miss Sunshine) is the first Mohr Bouvier to have a featured article on the website. Miss Heffala was the
first born of the
first litter to
Jezzabelle on May 23, 2006. Her earliest photo shoot shows her snuggled up close to
Mama Belle. Today, she remembers the special bond they shared and lights up each and every time she sees her “mom”.
She spent the first year and a half of her life living on the Gota Wana Moon Farm. She and her brother Houdini continuously enjoyed the fascination of hunting groundhogs, chasing rabbits and exploring the farm property. Heffala was always alert and ready to bounce off the porch to “pounce” and play in the fresh air. She is remembered fondly for the special attention she affectionately wanted to give to the house cat!
Heffala joined our family January 4, 2008 and has filled our hearts with joy and our home with love and comedy. Nine months prior, we had said goodbye to our first Bouvier, Mandy, after almost 13 great years of companionship. We were introduced to Karl and Linda Mohr through Mr. Boo (second litter) who was being groomed at our friend’s beauty parlor! His owner gave us the breeders contact information and the rest is history. It was a perfect match for all of us.
Some of
Heffy’s unique talents and gifts are worth sharing.
She can tell time!!! Really… each and every day she jumps in the bed to wake me up to start another day of adventure. There is no convincing her it is too early… she will dig me up from under the covers, lick me and insist that it is time for her first walk and breakfast! As a matter of fact, she has taken a short walk, escorted me to the mail box to pick up the morning paper, eaten and already resting before most people have seen the light of day!!!
Heffala sports a “hip” Bouvier style like no other! She is fawn and has a very cute shorter cut that allows her to roll in the yard, take many long walks in the park without too much fuss to her doo. The hair on the top of her head is adorably longer… a distinction that sets her apart from the pack. Her abbreviated “fall” gives her breeder Karl something to always tease me about!!! Her athletic physique is slender and she currently weighs in at a 64.4 lbs. Heffy is a modern girl who keeps up with the trends by having a tattoo on her inner thigh!!!
On the Sweetness Scale,
Heffala scores a perfect 10!!! Her personality is easy going with some typical Bouvier characteristics.
One of Heffala’s most favorite activities is having company. She is truly a great hostess, loves to share her yard, home, toys and parents with anyone who will come to play. She loves our son’s dog, Thorny who comes to visit and shares summer vacations with her down in Ocean City, MD. It doesn’t take long for her to wear him out from lots of laps out in the back yard. Her daily excitement is when her brother Gus (from her same litter) joins her for walks or visits. They live about 5 houses from each other and absolutely, without a doubt, know where each others home is. A typical play date for them involves a long walk through Trexler Park. They get along so well and even enjoy sleep over’s at each others homes. They get so excited to see one another that when each of them is told they are going to meet the other… they start jumping and practically drag their owners out the door, hydro-planeing us to the other home!!!
Heffala enjoys Saturday morning dog classes where she re-unites with many of her brothers and sisters, along with “mom” and her breeders. She is more wild about the family time than she is about the whole learning thing. BUT… she did unofficially WIN a contest where she stopped on a $20 bill when told to stop!!!!
On a more serious note, I am a Holistic Wellness Educator. I have the luxury of working from a home studio many hours of the day. This allows Heffala a special role of “meeter and greeter”. No one gets in without her announcing their presence at the door. She patiently sits waiting for them to enter and listens closely for permission to go over and say hello. Heffala has become a favorite attraction at workshops and seminars where she has assisted in healing.
Heffala is on an organic diet and supplements her diet with holistic vitamins, herbs, tinctures and nosodes for heartworm, lyme and distemper protection. Her recipe for living fully and healthy is lots of fresh air, exercise and good nutrition. Her treats consist of organic vegetables and some really great tasting fish treats. Our family is always happy to share information for increasing wellness in your dog’s life!!!!!
Give us a call anytime you want to join us for a walk in the park or a play date.
I highly recommend Linda and Karl Mohr as the finest of breeders. This is an extra-special “home” based breeder that offers tender, loving care each and every day.
I have been blessed with owning one of their pups and have had the opportunity to see many of their puppies flourishing in their new homes.
