Yes he definitely is. That picture was taken a couple of days before she had the puppies. Belle was very restless and settled down anytime Karl would sit in the whelping box with her. He now just gets to lay down on the sofa all night keeping watch on Belle and her babies. It is much more comfortable then the whelping box.
